Growing up in rural Montana, I was always torn between architecture and dentistry—both require a rigorous understanding of science, a meticulous eye for design, and an obsession with structural organization. But my path was ultimately decided by my childhood dentist.
When I was in grade school, a weekend trampoline accident left my brother with severe trauma to his front teeth. I was terrified I was in huge trouble, but our dentist immediately opened his office on a weekend just to fix my brother’s smile. That level of dedicated, compassionate care left a lasting impression on me, and it is the exact standard of commitment I strive to provide for my own patients today.
